In an August 14 meeting with high government representatives , including the deputy prime minister, it made two further demands: that a pair of Islamic religious festivals become official holidays and that Islamic laws pertaining to marriage and family life be applied in Britain. A Muslim present at the meeting later warned the government against any plans to profile airport passengers , lest this step radicalize Muslim youths further. इस बात से बेपरवाह नरमपंथी मुसलमानों ने घरेलू मोर्चे पर और भी कड़ा रूख अपनाया. 14 अगस्त को सरकार के उपप्रधानमन्त्री सहित उच्च स्तरीय प्रतिनिधियों के साथ बैठक में इन्होंने दो और मांगें कर डालीं- इस्लामी पर्व के जोड़े को आधिकारिक अवकाश घोषित किया जाये और पारिवारिक जीवन तथा विवाह के इस्लामी कानून को ब्रिटेन में लागू किया जाये. इस बैठक में उपस्थित रहे एक मुसलमान ने बाद में सरकार को चेतावनी दी कि हवाई यात्रियों की रूपरेखा के किसी भी प्रयास से मुस्लिम युवकों के कट्टरपंथी होने की सम्भावना बढ़ जायेगी.
